Eseld Imms holds an MSc in Geographical Information Science (GIS) from Birkbeck University of London and a BA (Hons) in Geography with Cultural and Community Studies from the University of Sussex. She works currently as a Principal GIS Specialist in the Environment Division for a global engineering, management and development consultancy – and as a freelance GIS Specialist providing spatial data management and cartographical support to researchers and non-governmental organisations. She is an operational volunteer for MapAction, a humanitarian mapping and information management organisation providing rapid response to disaster hit areas.

Eseld has more than fifteen years’ experience working in project management, consultancy and development roles for commercial and not-for-profit organisations, internationally and in the UK. She is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and a Chartered Geographer.
